Program Manager.  Responsible for technical development of marine propulsion package utilizing new 19,000HP gas turbine.

 

Controls Design Engineer.  Responsible for design of PLC control systems for gas turbine-compressor packages.

 

8/87 to 1/98.  Foster Wheeler Energy Int’l (formerly Ahlstrom Pyropower), San Diego, CA.

 

8/92 to 1/99.  Manager Process Development, Global Technology Department.  Responsible for developing and implementing process improvements to Foster Wheeler’s CFB combustion technology, coordinating with  the company’s  international engineering and technology centers.

 

6/91 to 8/92.  Supervisor, Process Engineering.  In addition to duties of Process Engineer, responsible for supervision and administration of small group of process engineers.

 

5/88 to 6/91.  Process Engineer.  Responsible for providing technical guidance and assistance to various groups of the company.  In particular, plant operations troubleshooting and problem solving for

 

Field Engineering Services, design guidelines and technical solutions to Performance Engineering, and technical customer presentations for Sales and Marketing.

 

8/87 to 5/88.  Project Engineer.  Responsibilities included writing and reviewing equipment specifications and commissioning of a 50 MWe CFB boiler in Stockton, CA.

 

3/80 to 8/87, Process Engineer, Lurgi Corporation, River Edge, NJ.

 

1/86 to 8/87.  Head Start-Up Engineer.  Responsible for check-out, commissioning, start-up, redesign and operation of 65 MWe CFB boiler for Scott Paper in Chester, PA.  Also co-prepared and presented Lurgi’s first CFB Operator Training Course (2 week course).

 

6/85 to 12/85.  Start-Up Engineer.  Responsible for shift operation during the start-up of a 30 MWe CFB boiler for Stadtwerke Flensburg  in Flensburg, Germany.

 

9/81 to 6/85.  Process/Start-Up Advisor.  Responsible for the the start-up and operation of a demonstration plant built for Getty Oil in McKittrick, CA, to produce oil by the retorting of diatomite.  Main responsibilities were shift supervision during start-up, analysis of test data, redesign of unit and mechanical equipment and optimization of unit operation. 

 

3/80 to 9/81.  Supervised shift operation of retorting pilot plant at Lurgi R&D Facility in Frankfurt, Germany, during test runs for various clients from synfuels industry.  Also involved in analysis and reporting of data collected during the test runs. 

 

12/77 to 3/80.  Process Engineer.  SRI International, Menlo Park, CA.

 

Responsible for design, operation and analysis of various bench scale test units used in the generation and detection of atmospheric dusts and aerosols.
